Bearpark & Esh Colliery Band

Bearpark & Esh Colliery Band is a Brass band based in Esh Winning, Co.Durham. The Band predominantly performs concerts, playing to live audiences throughout the North East and beyond since the 1950s. Notwithstanding this, the Band also enters competitions and their more recent success has been to attend the National Championships of Great Britain in 2015 (4th section and winning 3rd place) and in 2016 attending the competition again (3rd section and gaining 20th place but being promoted to the 2nd section).

The Band is involved in many high profile engagements, including the Remembrance Sunday parade in Sunderland and a production of the Durham Hymns in Durham Cathedral to commemorate the 1916 Battle of the Somme.

In 2010, the Band were extremely proud to have been chosen to perform on a CD produced by Universal Island Records “The Music Lives on now the Mines have Gone” as a mining Band from the North East. They featured alongside the famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band.

The Band continues to keep the local mining heritage alive, playing a wide variety of music from a traditional brass band repertoire, to rock and pop.

They are happy to, play for all occasions (full concerts, weddings, funerals, birthdays etc.) and have the facility to also cater for smaller functions.

No job too big or too small!!
