Andrew Davison is the official Piper to His Grace the Duke of Northumberland and Chairman of the Northumbrian Pipers’ Society. Most of his playing in public is ceremonial, at weddings, dinners and other functions, and his style is predominantly traditional. Andrew was born and brought up in Tynedale, where he still lives. Starting the pipes at the age of 15, he was taught by Roland Lofthouse and has spent over 40 years playing music with, and learning from, a wide range of wonderful traditional musicians across Northumberland - most notably, Joe Hutton.
